Learning is rooted in repetition [...], meaning that the reading of a single text twice is more profitable than reading two different things once, provided of course that said text has some depth of content.

The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

B. B. King

The trouble with learning from experience is that you never graduate.

When students cheat on exams it`s because our school system values grades more than students value learning.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

Just as one wouldn`t draw a lasting conclusion about oneself on the basis of a brief experience of indigestion, one needn`t do so on the basis of how one has thought or behaved for vast stretches of time in the past. A creative change of inputs to the system - learning new skills, forming new relationships, adopting new habits of attention - may radically transform one`s life.

Education is what people do to you, and learning is what you do to yourself.

Joi Ito

We live in a society where people are uncomfortable with not knowing. Children aren`t taught to say "I don`t know," and honesty in this form is rarely modeled for them. They too often see adults avoiding questions and fabricating answers, out of either embarrassment or fear, and this comes at a price. When children are embarrassed by or afraid of the feeling of not knowing, they are preoccupied with escaping their discomfort, rather than being motivated to learn. This robs them of the joy of curiosity. Let`s celebrate the feelings of awe and wonder in our children, as the foundation for all learning. Let`s teach children to say "I don`t know" and help them understand the power behind it. Let`s talk to them about how it feels to not know something. And, finally, let`s be honest with children about the limits of our own knowledge.

Instant feedback turns teaching moments into learning outcomes.

Edmund Bertschinger

Mistakes are not just opportunities for learning; they are, in an important sense, the only opportunity for learning or making something truly new.

Daniel Dennett

Learning to let go should be learned before learning to get.

Ray Bradbury

Learning without thinking is useless. Thinking without learning is dangerous.

Confucius

Teaching is only demonstrating that it is possible. Learning is making it possible for yourself.

Paulo Coelho

Life is not all about planning and shaping, but about not knowing, and being okay with that. It’s about learning to take the moment that comes and make the best of it, without any idea of what’s going to happen next.

Katrina Kenison

According to Jung, a stranger can see in an instant something in you that you might spend years learning about yourself. [...] How awful we all are when we look at ourselves under a light, finally seeing our reflections. How little we know about ourselves. How much forgiveness it must take to love a person, to choose not to see their flaws, or to see those flaws and love the person anyway. If you never forgive you`ll always be alone.

Stephen Elliott
