At a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what`s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That`s the world`s greatest lie.
You never know what`s around the corner. It could be everything. Or it could be nothing. You keep putting one foot in front of the other, and then one day you look back and you`ve climbed a mountain.
Well, that`s what love is like. It makes your heart race. It turns the world upside down. But if you`re not careful, if you don`t keep your eyes on something still, you can lose your balance. You can`t see what`s happening to the people around you. You can`t see that you`re about to fall.
Hating people isn`t a productive way of living. So what`s the point in hating anyone? There`s enough hate in the world as it is, without me adding to it.
To really be efficient you have to eliminate what doesn`t work. You have to figure out what`s important. And hold on tight to the things that matter most.
Life isn`t a music player where you choose whats being played, it is a radio where you have to enjoy whats being played.
We must always remember that we can never know what`s in someone else`s heart, but in order to function, we must guess.
Because if everything`s finite, if everything has a definite beginning, middle, and end, then why even get started in the first place? What`s the point when everything just leads to The End?
It`s human nature to want to fix what`s broken. We may not be able to replicate exactly what we lost. But in its place will grow something new. It`s a long process, but it happens. Slowly, but surely until we have what we need.
The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with. It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices. It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true. But our preferences do not determine what`s true.
Science is merely an extremely powerful method of winnowing what`s true from what feels good.
