Cause - Quotes
Cause this fight was rigged from the beginning. All day, every day, we fight against the current. Sometimes we lose.
Sometimes it`s not a matter of right and wrong. It`s about making a choice that will cause the least amount of pain to others - keeping things to yourself, sitting on information and feelings, and living with your secrets.
Orange Is the New Black (movie)
I don`t mind,
If your hands a little cold.
Cause I`m alive,
But I got no way to go.
You ask me what I want this year, And I try to make this kind and clear Just a chance that maybe we`ll find better days Cause I don`t need boxes wrapped in strings And designer love and empty things. Just a chance that maybe we`ll find better days
If you ever need me, just tell me and I`ll be there `cause I was built for you.
The great moral questions of the present age are those about human rights, war, poverty, the vast disparities between rich and poor, the fact that somewhere in the third world a child dies every two and a half seconds because of starvation or remediable disease. The churches` obsessions over pre-marital sex and whether divorced couples can remarry in church appears contemptible in the light of this mountain of human suffering and need. By distracting attention from what really counts, and focusing it on the minor and anyway futile attempt to get people to conduct their personal lives only in ways the church permits, harm is done to the cause of good in the world.
When you look at the history of what we know about the world, you see a noticeable pattern. Natural explanations of things have been replacing supernatural explanations of them. Like a steamroller. Why the Sun rises and sets. Where thunder and lightning come from. Why people get sick. Why people look like their parents. How the complexity of life came into being. I could go on and on. All these things were once explained by religion. But as we understood the world better, and learned to observe it more carefully, the explanations based on religion were replaced by ones based on physical cause and effect. Consistently. Thoroughly. Like a steamroller.
Don`t promise that you`re gonna write
Don`t promise that you`ll call
Just promise that you won`t forget we had it all
Cause you were mine, for the summer
Now we know it`s nearly over
Feels like snow in September
But I always will remember
You were my summer love
You always will be my summer love.
Don`t sharpen your tongue my dear
Cause your words are killing me
And making my heart burst
Is more than my blood is worth.
If you love somebody
Better tell them while they`re here `cause
They just may run away from you.
The difference between past and future, between cause and effect, between memory and hope, between regret and intention... in the elementary laws that describe the mechanisms of the world, there is no such difference.
I feel like I`m in the wrong world. Cause I don`t belong in a world where we don`t end up together. I don`t. There are parallel universes out there where this didn`t happen. Where I was with you, and you were with me. And whatever universe that is that`s the one where my heart lives in.
The highest problem of any art is to cause by appearance the illusion of a higher reality.
If someone said three years from now
You`d be long gone
I`d stand up and punch them out
`Cause they`re all wrong
I know better
`Cause you said forever
And ever
Who knew.
If determinism is true, the future is set - and this includes all our future states of mind and our subsequent behavior. And to the extent that the law of cause and effect is subject to indeterminism - quantum or otherwise - we can take no credit for what happens. There is no combination of these truths that seems compatible with the popular notion of free will.
